I will try one more time to post some of my shop pictures from the 70's up to the 90's. Some were taken on a 110 (if you remember those), but most were taken with my trusty Olympus OMG.

Here's a few busy days in the shop - my bench and my rack is full of work.

This was my first build - a walnut Les Paul, all rounded and molded for the client. He's owned it since 1983.

Fresh restoration of a 1880's American Conservatory harp guitar by Lyon and Healy. It was a family heirloom that came to me in a box. It played and sounded great after I reassembled it. The Strat was a custom job for a guitar teacher out of town. I think it was made from early StewMac parts.

Flamed refinish on a Mustang.

Some shots of my benches - my main bench, my apprentice Scott Corner hard at work, and my StewMac bench. Bought it from Dan Erlewine at a NAMM show.

This Les Paul was standing in the middle of a fire in a guitar stand. Every plastic part melted, and the grease in the Schallers caught fire and ran down the back of the neck, charring it badly. I installed a new fingerboard, rebound the body, replaced all hardware and pickups, and refinished it. The guy still owns it. He could have bought a new one for what I charged him, but it was a present from his parents.

My "shingle" outside my door at Miller Music in Wichita, KS.

My pal Spitz before he grew up to a full 150 pound Florida panther. He was always well behaved when he visited my shop through the years.

My smiling friend Flynn Addams with his all walnut bass. I built it similar to a Jazz, but with a narrower body from edge to edge. It definitely had a warm sound.

I built this in 1993 for local jazzer Sterling Gray. The mahogany body is similar to an Alembic in construction. Even the ebony knob is oval shaped.... Oh, yeah - it's the Indigo Spirit.

Finally - Scott holding a 1930's Gretsch Synchromatic I completely restored for the original owner. The binding was off, the top and back were clapping like a castanet on the ribs, and the fingerboard was unplayable. After taking it apart, and regluing all the seams and resetting the neck, I planed the fingerboard and refretted it. New Grovers, and buff the old lacquer. It played and sounded fantastic.
